Why Become a Midwife?
Like nursing, midwifery is interesting, challenging and varied with excellent employment prospects across the world and throughout a person’s life.
The main difference is that midwifery is a highly specialised field of work that focuses on providing supervision, care and advice to women during pregnancy and childbirth and in the post–natal period.
Health counselling and education for the woman, and also within her family and community, preparation for parenthood and infant care are important components of the work.
